It seems that PlayStation’s console-exclusive grip on Silent Hill 2 has finally come to an end because we finally have official confirmation that the game will be coming to Xbox Series consoles - and in the very near future.
Silent Hill 2, the 2024 remake of the 2001 classic PlayStation title of the same name, will indeed be getting an Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X port, and the source of this confirmation more than implies that Xbox owners will be able get their hands on it in a matter of weeks.
When the first proper trailer for Konami and Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 originally dropped, several outlets immediately spotted a specific line denoting its release, or lack thereof, on other platforms.
As detailed in an article by IGN in September 2024, roughly a month before the game was set to release, the trailer over on the official PlayStation YouTube channel stated that Silent Hill 2 wouldn't release on “other formats” until October 8, 2025.

Of course, as of writing, we’re at the end of October 2025, so why hasn’t the game been announced for any other platforms?

Well, it may be a little later than expected, but we finally have confirmation that the game will indeed be getting an Xbox Series port.
Ynfortunately, a little too late for Xbox owners to experience the game on Halloween, but at least it’s leak is seasonally appropriate.

Initially spotted by VGC’s Chris Scullion, a new listing for Silent Hill 2 just went live on the ESRB website, separate from the original ESRB listing for both the PlayStation 5 and PC versions of the game.
This new ESRB listing, which is otherwise identical to the original one, states that the game has been approved for release on Xbox Series consoles.
Unfortunately for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 owners, there’s no mention of any sort of other platforms. Considering the game did run into some performance issues on both PS5 and PC, I wouldn’t be surprised if a Nintendo Switch 2 release is still on the way… it just may take a little longer to produce.
In regards to a release date for the Xbox Series port, there’s no concrete info. However, we can make a pretty confident educated guess.

Games that are rated through ESRB often only pop up mere weeks before their release date. For instance, the ESRB rating for Metro Awakening just went live, and that’s scheduled to drop on November 7. Don’t be surprised if Silent Hill 2 ends up dropping on Xbox Series consoles around the same time.
