Silent Hill f has just received a new patch, and it’s massively improved a lot of complaints people had about the game.

Launching back in September, Silent Hill f has received critical acclaim across the entire spectrum of gamers. Many players have even said that they consider it the best game of the year.

However, despite getting lots of positive buzz, there were a few issues players had with the game’s difficulty and pacing, and that’s what this new patch aims to address.

What's in Silent Hill f Patch 1.10?

Konami has posted the patch notes for Silent Hill f Patch 1.10, which includes some massive changes to the game’s difficulty options. Be aware, these patch notes include spoilers for the game’s finale, so proceed with caution.

For starters, a new Casual action difficulty mode has been added, which is available for both New Game runs as well as New Game Plus.

Although many players found Story difficulty to be more than adequate, Casual difficulty makes the game significantly easier for those who were really struggling with the game’s combat.

If you’re in the middle of a playthrough on Story action difficulty at the moment, dying multiple times in the same section will prompt the game to ask if you’d like to turn it down to Casual difficulty.

Meanwhile, a new Optional Skip feature has also been added for certain sections of New Game Plus that you’d rather not play again.

For example, upon completing the mural puzzle on New Game Plus, you’ll get the option to skip the next section and head all the way towards the scene where Hinako awakens at the corridor of the Dark Shrine for the second time, with the Proceed objective appearing.

Konami has said that items from the skipped sections won’t be collected, using the feature does not impact branching paths or endings, and that some ending achievements will also be voided for that playthrough.

This patch also makes a few more changes to tune Silent Hill f’s difficulty, for example, allowing Hinako to recover stamina a little faster, as well as letting her take a few more hits on the Hard action difficulty.

Certain sections have also been tweaked to reduce the number of monsters that appear at once, and unskippable combat encounters have also been reduced to give you more room to evade enemies.

So, overall you should have a slightly easier time with the game. However, it should still be pretty tough on you if you decide to play the higher action difficulties.
