A free Silent Hill download has dropped as part of a crossover for one of the best horror games of 2026.

Last year, we were treated to one of the best horror games in recent years with Konami’s Silent Hill f, which received very positive reviews from critics and the community alike.

While it’s not all that surprising that we were treated to a quality game in this iconic survival horror series, even the most devoted of fans were surprised that it would be the first game not to be set in the town of Silent Hill, and it’s purely inspired by Japanese folklore.

We scored Silent Hill f 9/10!

“Despite being dragged down by the combat, I was thoroughly invested, and on the edge of my seat for the majority of the game, and despite the horrors I witnessed, it hasn’t swayed me from seeing every available ending, for the full and complete story,” wrote GAMINGbible’s Sam in his review.

A Long-Awaited Remake Arrived in 2026

Resident Evil Requiem is not the only fantastic horror game we’ve been treated to in 2026, because we were also blessed with a remake of Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly. When I played the original in 2004 (the UK release), it instantly became an all-time favourite horror of mine.

Supernatural ghosts are a surefire way to scare the crap out of me, and Koei Tecmo’s Fatal Frame series has that in abundance. The remake of Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly not only improves the visuals and performance, but also improves gameplay, adds new areas, story beats and more.

Released today, you can claim the ‘Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake x Silent Hill f Costume’ DLC for free.

This free DLC, which is available to download via the Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo digital stores, includes the ‘Navy Sailor School Uniform’ and the ‘Fox Mask’ accessory to be used in Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake.

The ‘Navy Sailor School Uniform’ outfit can be worn by Mio Amakura, and the ‘Fox Mask’ by Mio Amakura and Mayu Amakura. There appears to be no expiry date on this free DLC, so no worries if you can’t download it today.

Silent Hill f is out on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake is also out on Nintendo Switch 2 (as well as the aforementioned platforms).
