Halo fans have a reason to be excited with a subtle tease of what the future may hold for the beloved Xbox series.
“Sir, permission to leave the station,” Master Chief said to Lord Hood, who replied, “For what purpose, Master Chief?” and then, John-117 said the iconic line in Halo 2, “To give the Covenant back their bomb.”
Halo is one of the most iconic video game properties of all time, ever since it made its debut as an original Xbox launch title in 2001.

Sure, the series may not have hit the same heights recently as the original trilogy from Bungie, but there’s no denying that there’s still a lot of love for Master Chief.
During the Xbox Games Showcase last weekend, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, Phil Spencer, teased that something big for the Halo series is arriving in 2026, which will not only be the 25th anniversary of the series, but also Xbox.
Phil Spencer teased a “return of a classic that’s been with us since the beginning,” with many hoping that he could be hinting at a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved. Whether that comes to fruition, time will tell.
“Wake me up in three to four years,” said Reddit user joevsyou reacting to the news, hoping this is when the new Halo game will be released.

“So they’re planning on rebooting again? I’m sure fourth time's the charm for 343 Industries [now rebranded as Halo Studios]," said Trickybuz93.
“So the story of Halo Infinite will be finished in a book, and Halo 7 will take place sometime after and have a completely different enemy, and potentially bring the Covenant back,” explained Penguin_724.
“I can’t wait for some more Halo, bring it on!” yelled Exorcist-138.
We’ll keep you posted when we learn more information about the next Halo game.
