This upcoming Steam RPG looks like it could be a delight for fans of The Elder Scrolls and Valheim, perhaps with a hint of the horror survival game The Forest thrown in too.

Among the Trolls is a single-player game developed by Avantgarden and judging by its gameplay trailer, it looks to show some promise.

Check out the Among the Trolls trailer below!

If you want a break from games such as Valheim and something to pass the time until The Elder Scrolls VI eventually arrives, you might want to keep an eye on Among the Trolls when it launches on Steam.

It does look like Among the Trolls is suited to be a multiplayer game and that might take some getting used to initially, so it will be interesting to see how the game is received when released. On the plus side, at least it means you’ll only have NPCs to worry about.

“Among the Trolls is a first-person survival-adventure game where the secret mysteries of Finnish forests are unravelled,” reads the synopsis on the Steam store. “Step into Anna’s shoes as she travels from the U.S. to Finland to visit her grandfather in a remote and isolated cabin deep in the forest.”

“But upon arrival, you discover the cabin abandoned and your grandfather has vanished, drawing you into a realm of Nordic mythology and long-lost memories of summers past. Embark on a quest to find your missing grandfather and survive the untamed wilderness, facing supernatural creatures from Finnish mythology and the living, animistic forces of Nature.”

No release date has been announced for Among the Trolls at the time of writing, but be sure to wishlist it on Steam to be notified of its launch, which includes when its early access is live.

Hopefully, if Among the Trolls proves to be a success, we might see it released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. We’ll have our fingers crossed.
