Steam users can now pick up a free new game which is pretty challenging.
If you're a gamer on a tight budget, it can often be useful to explore the free-to-play section on Steam.
Having a nosey through this part on the platform, you'll find plenty of new games that are being made available for free every single day.
The Boomies Show is the latest free release to hit the platform.

It's a brand new game developed by BoomTeam, described as a "frantic twin-stick roguelite".
"In a near future where violence has become global entertainment, The Boomies Show turns a colorful amusement park into a survival arena," reads the blurb on The Boomies Show. "Behind the lights, the candy-coated scenery and the cameras, everything is built for slaughter. You are not here to play. You are here to stay alive.
"Survive wave after wave, master two recoil-driven weapons, upgrade your arsenal mid-run and choose the right moment to extract before the show swallows you whole."
As you play during each round, the park unlocks progressively. You'll open new doors and activate environmental elements which expand your playground throughout the run.
The game offers you two weapons to utilise, an assault rifle that offers "constant pressure and crowd control", and a shotgun which is more "brutal and decisive", allowing you to pick between the two when it comes to fighting.

During each round, you'll get to collect different modules for your weapon. These modules transform different parts of the weapon, with aspects like Projectile, Barrel, Magazine and Stock being affected.
A passives system is also included, where you can collect new upgrades via a crate which appears in the arena. Pick it up, and you've got a choice of three random passives. Collect up to five, upgrade them, then specialise them into an exclusive branch once they hit max level.
Some of these upgrades include "autonomous drones, periodic bombardments, movement-based effects or aggressive scaling: every run builds into something different."
If you're interested in checking out The Boomies Show, it's worth going to the Steam store page for the game and downloading it from there.
As always, make sure you meet the minimum or recommended system requirements for the game before attempting to play.
If your PC doesn't hit those specs, you may experience issues such as slow performance, crashes, or other bugs which interfere with the intended experience.
