Steam’s latest freebie is one for the retro gamers out there, in case the latest AAAs just weren’t enough for you.
007 First Light and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight are both excellent games but if the success of Mina The Hollower is anything to go off, gamers love a good retro revival.
While Mina The Hollower catered to Legend of Zelda fans Steam’s next free game will be any Mega Man or Ninja Gaiden fan’s cup of tea.
In a special promotion you can now save 100% off Gravity Circuit, a gorgeous pixel-art platformer inspired by “console classics.”
The rest of its description says “Follow Kai, a lone operative war hero who harnesses the mysterious powers of the Gravity Circuit, on an adventure in a futuristic world inhabited by sentient robots.”

Usually the game costs $16.99/£14.29 without the soundtrack included but with a sequel on the way Gravity Circuit is now free for a limited time.
We do mean a limited time as well because gamers only have until 14 June to add the game to their library.
You’d be a fool not to, as Gravity Circuit comes highly recommended with a positive rating of 95% following 2,092 reviews.
You can find what some of its players are saying about the game below in case you need further convincing.

“Gravity Circuit feels as if someone has found a lost cartridge from an alternate universe where the platformer genre didn’t die out but continued to evolve for another 30 years.”
“This is a good game. If you want punchy Mega Man esque platforming, this is definitely that. If that's enough for you, buy this without worry. Be aware it may be kinda tough if you're not used to this kind of gameplay.”
“A great Mega Man inspired game. Close to Shovel Knight in terms of love and care put in. The achievements can be earned on any difficulty if you want to go for 100%”
That Shovel Knight comparison is all we need to convince us to give it a go.
It’s worth pointing out that Gravity Circuit is also verified for the Steam Deck, which you should probably use more if you already own one considering it just sky-rocketed in price…
Be sure to claim Gravity Circuit for free before it returns to its original price on 14 June, and get ready for more news on the sequel coming later this year.
