Steam Free Download Looks Stunning, Ideal For Red Dead Redemption Players

A new free demo that’s appeared on Steam this week is ideal for Red Dead Redemption players.
Steam Next Fest was last week, and brought with it many new demos and downloads for thousands of upcoming games.
If you’re a PC gamer that likes to keep an eye on any upcoming games that look interesting, holding space for Steam Next Fest is generally a good idea.
Of the thousands of game demos made available during this time though, it can be a little tricky to find something that might resonate with you.

Luckily, we found something that I think might interest Red Dead Redemption fans. It’s an upcoming RPG with an emphasis on exploration called The Legend of Khiimori.
It’s set in 13th century Mongolia where you tame and breed horses, train them with unique abilities, and ride them to explore the surrounding landscape.
“13th century Mongolia is the home of history’s best horse riders. The land is beautiful and vast, full of wonders and intriguing tales to uncover,” reads The Legend of Khiimori’s official description on Steam.
“Be prepared for harsh climates, steep cliffs, and amazing landscapes. Keep yourself safe from danger by strategically planning your delivery routes across the wide steppes, over snowy peaks or through the scorching desert.
“Training horses is essential in charting the expansive Mongolian landscape. Breed horses with specialized traits to overcome the many challenges along your path. Pair the best stock to breed increased capabilities across generations.
“Train your horse, care for their needs and unleash their full potential to become a true Yam courier rider. Enjoy unparalleled realism in lifelike equine behavior and animation, refined and approved by experts.”
If you’re interested in checking the game out, the demo from Steam Next Fest is still available to download as of today. It offers a small slice of what to expect in the later release.
As for when The Legend of Khiimori will be released, it’s expected to launch into Early Access on 3 March, 2026. So, you still have a ways off yet before being able to play it, but the demo launch should suffice for now.
Developer Aesir Interactive says the early access period, which will last for approximately 12 months, will give it “the opportunity to gather valuable feedback, iterate quickly, and refine core systems based on our player’s feedback” to achieve its goal for the 1.0 version in 2027.
