If you’re a PC user with one measly hour to spare, it’s recommended that you spend that hour playing the free new release Linebound.
Developed by a group of indie devs and published by FutureBound, Linebound is a 2D co-op puzzle platformer that’s garnered rave reviews on PC storefront Steam.
One player - the “sketch” - is tasked with navigating through the game’s world while the second - the “artist” - must assist by drawing lines in real-time, which act as platforms for player one.
“One player draws; the other navigates. Together, you reach each exit,” the synopsis begins.

It continues, “The Artist sees the world from the outside. Sketch lives inside it. They need each other to progress.
“With an intuitive, easy to learn gameplay-loop, Linebound puts its focus on player-to-player interaction. Communication is key, as trust is needed to effectively dot each i and cross each t.
“Linebound takes place inside a hand-drawn sketchbook. Pencil-scratched environments, crayon-colored platforms, and doodled creatures fill each page with charm and personality.”
As the two player roles are so different, it’s definitely worth embarking on a second playthrough of Linebound so you can benefit from both experiences as the artist and the sketch.
There are 15 levels in total for players to work through.

You do need Parsec or Steam Remote Play Together in order to enjoy online play, so do keep that in mind. You can play it solo if you prefer.
Linebound is completely free to claim and keep, but that offer is only running for a limited-time.
Devs have decided to make the game free for its first month, so you have until the end of June to grab your free copy. After that, it’ll become a paid-for game.
Clearly, players are already loving what it has to offer with a Steam ‘Positive’ review score of 93%, correct at the time of writing.
One player even declared Linebound to be a “10/10”, declaring, “Game was very fun even as a solo. Wish there was something in-game for getting all stars but definitely would play more. 10/10.”
Another remarked, “Fun and cute puzzle platformer, pretty short and simple with enjoyable mechanics and some achievements to hunt for, would recommend,” while someone said, “I played this game with my gf and we had a lot of fun, she was particularly struck by the cute design, and for me, I also enjoyed every bit of the game. Great game to play, can only recommend.”
Most players have a playtime of around one hour, so it shouldn’t take you long to roll credits on Linebound.
With that in mind, it won’t harm your backlog, which, let’s face it, we all have.
