Steam 97% Rated Hit Surpasses 5 GOTY Winners, Major The Last of Us Vibes

Steam’s latest AAA hit is reminiscent of The Last of Us but with a Dead Space twist, and it’s currently rated higher than all five previous Game of the Year winners.

We’re only in April and yet it feels like there are several games that could compete for this year’s coveted Game of the Year award.

You’ve got Resident Evil Requiem, Crimson Desert, Thomas & Friends: Wonders of Sodor and many more.

There’ll probably be plenty of others throughout the year but April’s latest is one for the ages, arguably better than everything 2026 has given us so far.

One Of Steam’s Top-Rated Games Of 2026 Is A Must Play

Gamers around the world are celebrating what they’d call the return of the good old days of gaming. By this we mean an influx of those feel-good titles you’d have probably seen on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 back in the day.

Capcom’s latest smash-hit Pragmata is an excellent example of that, and it’s right up the street of any Last of Us fan.

GAMINGbible’s review of the game written by yours truly was glowing with praise. It’s an emotional and impactful third-person shooter that sees its players solve an array of puzzles before they can let their bullets fly.

It also joins several other games in what can only be described as the parent-child genre, popularised by games like The Last of Us Part 1 and Telltale’s The Walking Dead.

New space-dad Hugh gets the AI child Diana placed into his care, much like how Ellie is handed to Joel in The Last of Us, albeit with much happier vibes.

At the time of writing Pragmata is sitting pretty on multiple digital storefronts near-perfect review scores.

Steam for instance has it sitting at an Overwhelmingly Positive score of 97% with nearly 6,000 reviews.

The PlayStation Store is a similar story with a score of 4.78 stars out of five with over 16,000 ratings.

In Steam’s case though this places Pragmata’s rating as higher than the last five Game of the Year winners.

This includes; Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Astro Bot (never released on Steam), Baldur’s Gate 3, Elden Ring and It Takes Two.

That’s an impressive feat especially for a brand-new IP. Even though it was developed and published by Capcom.

The Best Platform To Play Pragmata On

For GAMINGbible’s review the base PlayStation 5 version of the game was played and struck a solid balance between visuals and performance.

The Xbox Series X/S version is said to be just as good but for best performance on consoles the PlayStation 5 Pro will inevitably be the platform of choice.

Pragmata is also available on the Nintendo Switch 2 and despite an expected downgrade in graphical quality it’s surprisingly well optimised. Those who like the novelty of playing games on a handheld are in good hands.

PC is the overall winner of course as there’s just more power to take advantage of, but be wary if you use Nvidia. Many have reported that turning Nvidia’s RTX on actually makes Pragmata’s visuals worse as it kills the atmosphere.
