Steam drops 21 free downloads, but you don't have long

Who wants to play some fantastic video games for free on Steam? If that sounds like your cup of tea then you’re in the right place but you might not have long to check them out.

In this day and age of the never-ending cost-of-living crisis, it’s always nice to save money when we can. Especially when it can be frustrating to spend money on a game that we might end up not liking, which is why free video games on Steam can be a blessing.

Thankfully, Steam is running the ‘Farming Fest’ event which is all about cute and cosy indie games. In particular, if you’re into games inspired by the likes of indie darling Stardew Valley, then the ‘Farming Fest’ event might just be catered for you.

Not only does the ‘Farming Fest’ event offer big discounts on loads of charming games, but you can also check out those games for free before buying, courtesy of the playable demos available right now. However, ‘Farming Fest’ ends on 6 May 2024, so you might not have long to check out the cutie and cosy freebies.

With well over 20 free demos to choose from, I’ve picked out some of the best of the bunch which you can check out below including Lightyear Frontier, Fae Farm, Cattails: Wildwood Story, Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure and more.
