In this day and age, with the cost-of-living crisis seemingly not going away any time soon, it’s even more important to save money when we can. For many of us, one of the best forms of escapism is spending time with our beloved video games, whether we play on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo or mobile devices. In my humble opinion, nothing beats the level of immersion that video games have, regardless of the genre.
That being said, maintaining our hobby of playing video games can get very expensive, especially when we want to keep up with all the latest AAA and indie releases. Which means, when there's a great game you can play for free, we'll try it out and let you know if it's actually worth your time.
Steam users are loving LAVALAMP!
There are tons of free games to check out on the PC platform Steam. Yes, some of them are... Questionable in quality. That's where we come in! We know these free indie games probably won't replace all the major AAA games we’re eagerly awaiting, but at the very least, they will help pass the time while we save some pennies.

One such game is called LAVALAMP - a walking simulator with a really unique psychedelic feel and amazing music, created by solo developer and contemporary music composer Gabriel Ledoux. It will only last around 30 and 60 minutes, with no ads or informations taken from you.
LAVALAMP is filled with :
- cereals
- information about the importance of eating breakfast every morning
- epic(ish) cinematics
- a weird storyline
- cool colours
- stuff that you can click on and it makes cool sounds
Honestly, creative freedom is one of the best things about indie gaming, because when was the last time you played a AAA game inspired by a lava lamp?

After watching the trailer for LAVALAMP, it looks very psychedelic, which is very fitting of the 1960s, when the first lava lamp was released.
