Steam Next Fest will be in full swing next week, but that hasn’t stopped some developers from releasing their demos a bit early.

These demos offer a small taste of what’s to come in the full release, and might just tempt you to add to your wishlist if you like what you see.

Let’s dive into what demos you can play on PC this weekend ahead of Steam Next Fest.

Saroasis Studios

Fate Trigger

Fate Trigger is an upcoming hero-based tactical shooter with an anime art style, where you choose from a roster of characters and do battle in a variety of different game modes.

Advert

The new Fate Trigger demo features three maps, ten heroes, and four different game modes, so while the content differs quite a bit from what will be in the full release, you still have a decent amount of things to do.

Three Friends

Romestead

In this upcoming city builder RPG, you’re tasked with rebuilding Rome after an apocalyptic event has left the city in ruins and its citizens turned into mindless zombies. So it’s partly about rebuilding the remains of Rome, and partly about surviving the deadly hordes that have come to snack.

The Romestead demo features the first two biomes or progression, along with 15 dungeons to explore and three bosses. There’s also an eight player co-op mode, so you can check it out with your mates if you fancy it.

Silver Lining Interactive

The Witch’s Bakery

The Witch’s Bakery is an adventure and puzzle game where you play as a witch who has settled in Paris by opening up a cosy little bakery. It’s got all the vibes of Kiki’s Delivery Service and Stardew Valley all rolled into one.

The demo for The Witch’s Bakery includes the entire first chapter of the game, encompassing around one or two hours of gameplay, just enough to really get into the breadth of the game’s opening.

Dear Villagers

1348 Ex Voto

An action-adventure game set in Medieval Italy, 1348 Ex Voto is about a young knight errant named Aeta who sets off on a brutal quest to find and save her closest one. It’s inspired by classics of the genre and chivalric story tropes.

The 1348 Ex Voto demo features the game’s opening chapters, allowing you to experience the brutal beginnings of Aeta’s journey and test out the combat.

Fireshine Games

Denshattack

My personal pick of the bunch, Denshattack is a stylish fast-paced arcade game where you control a gravity-defying train to ollie, kickflip, and grind your way through Japan's biggest cities, as well as a world of meadows, volcanoes and oceans.

The demo for Denshattack features the first three levels of the game, testing your skating skills and allowing you to complete tricks to try and beat your personal best times.

Envar Games

Witchspire

A survival-crafting adventure in a world brimming with magic and peril. Befriend and battle creatures, and conjure up a sanctuary alongside other witches in co-op or single-player.

The demo for Witchspire features a lot of content from the full game, but scaled back to give you limited access to what’s in the game. This means the max level is 7, and you’re only limited to two starter familiars and coven choices.

Focus Entertainment

John Carpenter's Toxic Commando

A Left 4 Dead-style shooter where you select a character and team up with three friends to obliterate hordes of terrifying monsters.

The demo for John Carpenter's Toxic Commando contains two levels for you to try out, along with a glimpse of all the content from the full release like combat, abilities, and co-op gameplay.
