Cyberpunk 2077 fans urged to check out gorgeous free Steam demo

A gorgeous new world has opened up, yet one that feels comfortingly familiar

Cyberpunk 2077 being anything other than an acclaimed game feels like a distant memory now, thank goodness. However, due to its publicised redemption, upon completion of the game we hunger for more experiences that come close to it.

Towards the end of January, we learnt that Cyberpunk 2077 would be receiving another update in spite of the fact most of the team is now working on the upcoming The Witcher title. Designed to tackle “common issues”, quality of life is still at the forefront of the devs’ minds.

We can't get enough of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, so don't forget to check it out if you haven't already!

As joyous as this is the fandom still lost to the neon bright underworld of this dystopian masterpiece, there are those of us who need something new, something fresh, to keep us going. This is where a free Steam demo comes into play.

Having notable similarities to Cyberpunk 2077, Dystopika is best described as a “zen” way to enjoy the vivid lights and distinctive aesthetic of that universe. Think of this PC game as a way to create your very own Cyberpunk 2077-inspired city, giving you the chance to determine how the people living in its sprawling streets fare.

This isn’t about “winning or losing”, this is about relaxation, a word few would associate with any Cyberpunk 2077-esque playthrough. “There are no goals, no resource management, no objectives. Just simply relax and immerse yourself in the visuals and sounds of your city. Escape to a future that you’ve built.”

Granted, high energy is what makes CD Projekt Red’s game so iconic, however, there are times when some of us just wish to be immersed within its world without the need for violence. Dystopika gives us that opportunity.

Available for Microsoft players only (for now, at least), the demo is free for you to download to see if commanding such a cityscape is for you. Then, later in the year, the full game will be released and you’ll be able to run the empire you’ve always wanted.
