There is nothing better than sitting down with a cosy game, especially if the game in question takes inspiration from classics such as Animal Crossing and Minecraft.

Well, that is definitely the case for Town to City, an upcoming city-builder which takes place in an idyllic 19th century Mediterranean town.

Developed by Galaxy Grove, Town to City may not have an official release date just yet but it is now free to try out courtesy of Steam.

So if you are a fan of Animal Crossing, Minecraft, and cosy games in general, you will not want to miss out on this one.

“In story or sandbox mode, you're free to build at your own pace, placing each flower bed with pixel precision, or prioritise growing your economy and developing your town into a thriving city,” the official Steam synopsis reads.

In Town to City, players will be able to freely place houses, shops, amenities, and natural elements in order to delight residents and encourage new people to move into the area.

As the population grows, so will your ambition as you will unlock the ability to expand your village in order to help the whole region flourish and prosper.

With grid-less building, you will be able to place buildings wherever you like. Whether you want an ordered city-like layout or a more free-flowing, natural feeling, it is entirely up to you.

“Beautify your settlement to your heart's content with a plethora of customisation options. Set up lighting, plant flowers and wooded parks, and decorate houses and buildings to complement or contrast.

With gorgeous voxel graphics as a base, it's easy to create something beautiful that you'll want to capture with the in-game photo mode.”

You will also have the chance to undertake particular requests from your residents and as the population grows, you will need to keep on top of people’s growing needs.

In Town to City, city-building has never been easier or so beautiful and a free demo is now available on Steam.
