Starfield: Starborn expansion appears online ahead of official reveal

Despite what you’ve convinced yourselves of, Starfield is far from finished with its story.

Although Bethesda’s sci-fi outing hasn’t gone as planned, there’s more tales to be told, and it looks like this new expansion is how it’ll happen.

The last we heard from Starfield, its next update intended to add a much requested feature fans have been begging for.

Exciting though that is, it’s hardly going to bring players back in droves.

Confirmation that yearly story expansions are planned have helped offer more longevity to the game, however, without something tangible, the fandom is a little weary of such promises.

Well, here’s that “something tangible”.

A new trademark for ‘Starborn’ has been registered, leading fans to speculate that this is the next story update for the title.

Twitter user Timur222 was the first to spot the details online.

For those who don’t know the lore of the RPG well, Starborn is the name given to those who’ve travelled through portals and thus different universes in-game.

Considering that connection, it’s not hard to understand why many believe this trademark references an upcoming expansion.

However, while speculation is rife, Bethesda hasn’t confirmed this yet.

Still, despite there being no official reveal, that hasn’t stopped fans from getting hyped about the possibilities such an expansion presents.

“The Starborn were always the most interesting faction to me,” posted one social media user in response to the news.

“Sounds like something Bethesda would do,” said another, alongside an image of the Skyrim ‘Dragonborn’ promo.

With Bethesda in “no rush” to churn out a new Fallout game, as per an interview with Todd Howard, it makes sense that the devs are still focused on improving and expanding Starfield.

That said, with demand growing for The Elder Scrolls VI, there might not be long left before Starfield is assigned to the scrap heap.

Until that day comes, though, it seems the devs are keen to continue the story, and ‘Starborn’ might be the way they’re doing it.
