Bethesda is celebrating the one-year birthday of Starfield by sharing some juicy details on the upcoming expansion, Shattered Space.

In a tweet, Bethesda has detailed some of the things we can expect for the game’s first official expansion with the highlight being over 50 new “hand-crafted locations” to explore.

Shattered Space is coming soon to Starfield and promises more locations to explore

Starfield received some mixed reactions upon launch but Bethesda has committed to improving the game significantly via updates and the upcoming DLC will add to this.

Along with the new locations to be found throughout Shattered Space, players can find a bunch of new “formidable” enemies with “Redeemed and Vortex horrors”, which has us excited.

There will also be new grenades that can be crafted using organic material found throughout the game. This comes with a quote “and it's gross,” which makes it even more interesting.

Are we talking about spatter that slows enemies? Poisons them? Does damage over time, based on elements? It’ll be an intriguing addition to the battles, for sure.

Lastly, we apparently “haven't seen the last of Zealots, Spacers, or the Crimson Fleet... As you explore the planet be on the lookout for those taking advantage of the situation.”

You can be sure this will kick off in a big way as folks from across the galaxy will want a piece of the action in some way.

While I wasn’t overly impressed by Starfield on release, this expansion is doing enough that I might be tempted back.

I finished the main quest and dabbled in side stuff, but what I saw just didn’t scream Bethesda classic at me and I was left wanting.

I’m hoping that this expansion does enough to make me go back and replay the game again, or pick up where I left off. I do miss my wife Andreja, I wonder how she’s getting on.
