Valheim Just Rolled Out a Major Update

It's back to Valheim we go, thanks to a massive new update.

In truth, you may never have left its shores; Valheim is a hugely popular game despite it still being in early access. Even though some have criticised the game for its slow development, few can deny how engrossing the gameplay is once you take that first step.

Its "brutal exploration", accompanied by the "shrouded mystery" of its landscape, delivers an immersive experience we just can't get enough of. Thankfully, its devs are still working hard to give gamers an exceptional adventure, and thus, a new update has been rolled out.

Patch 0.221.3 introduces a whole host of new content, as well as numerous bug fixes. It goes without saying that some of these patch notes are going to reveal spoilers, so trend carefully from here on out. What is more, due to the enormity of this update, we'll only be giving you the cliff notes rather than the full list.

Here's just some of what you can expect to see via the update, as per the Valheim website:

• Trinkets: Equip these items to gain adrenaline during battle, and thus unlock temporary perks.
• Adrenaline: You gain adrenaline by hitting enemies, triggering a Forsaken Power, using certain magic attacks, as well as performing Perfect Blocks and Perfect Dodge Rolls. When the bar is full, you get an adrenaline surge which gives you a temporary perk designated by your equipped Trinket. Adrenaline will fade when you are not in active combat, and you will only gain adrenaline as long as you have a Trinket equipped.
• Wooden Weapons: By using wooden weapons you can practice combat against your friends without hurting each other.
• New skill: Perfect Dodge Roll (Dodge an attack that would have caused you damage and get a % of stamina back)
• Perfect Block no longer cost stamina
• Reduced movement speed penalty on Battleaxes, Sledgehammers, and Tower Shields
• Vertical fighting improvements, now easier to hit enemies in slopes!
• New location: CombatRuin01
• 3 new hairstyles (Mullet, Castellan & Vinland Shave)
• 5 new beard styles (Moustache, Handlebar, Trimmed, Waxed, Crumb Catcher)

Believe us when we say, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Patch 0.221.3 is now live. Though be warned, this is still an early access title and so the update could throw up some new issues for the devs to address in the next update.
