The galaxy far, far away has introduced us to some of the most iconic characters in fiction, from Darth Vader, to the Jedi Master Yoda, and more recently the legendary Mandalorian Din Djarin.

The list is practically endless but a character far more infamous in the Star Wars franchise is making a bold comeback, the legendary Glup Shitto… I’m kidding, it’s Jar Jar Binks.

Have you been keeping up with Star Wars Skeleton Crew? We’ve interviewed the cast!

Jar Jar Binks is the comic-relief Gungan character introduced during Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, and quickly became one of the most-hated characters in the series.

The hate was so bad that the actor who brought Jar Jar to life, Ahmed Best, fell into a depression from his time in the role, but thankfully he’s doing much better nowadays and even returned in The Mandalorian to play a Jedi Knight.

While he’s not making any more film or TV appearances anytime soon he has returned in the upcoming Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles remaster.

Aspyr is the studio behind the PS1 remaster and aside from sprucing up the visuals new characters are being added to the game.

Also included in the remaster are new cheat codes, as well as the option to change the colour of your lightsabers, but unfortunately Jar Jar is forced to use a Gungan staff, no Darth Jar Jar unfortunately.

If you’ve never played Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles before it’s…not great, and was pretty rough on the original PlayStation, but perhaps Aspyr has made it better with this remaster.

The full game is set for launch on 23 January later this month, and will feature even more playable characters both on launch day and released as post-launch updates, it's worth checking out if you’re a fan of the series or retro gaming.
