Star Wars fans beware, Jar Jar Binks is finally making his official return

Somehow Jar Jar Binks returned, again

Star Wars fans will soon be welcoming back the infamous Gungan Jar Jar Binks and hopefully, they’ll treat him with more respect this time.

The Star Wars prequels had their issues, but the overwhelming amount of hate they got when they first premiered was astounding.

Fortunately, the consensus on their quality has shifted over time.

Compared to Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker, the prequels look like cinematic masterpieces.

Of all the characters, storylines, and locations the prequels introduced though, the addition that got the most hate was easily Jar Jar Binks who first appeared in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace before also appearing in the following two films.

The negativity surrounding him was so suffocating that Jar Jar’s actor, Ahmed Best, suffered mental health issues afterwards as a result, but has since returned to the Star Wars galaxy with open arms.

Ahmed Best played Jedi Master Kelleran Beq in The Mandalorian and reprised his role of Jar Jar in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild The Galaxy, where he played a Sith Lord version of the character based on the popular memes and fan theories.

He’ll once again play the character in another Disney LEGO series, LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past.

Rebuild The Galaxy is a bit like Marvel’s What If?.. as it imagines what the Star Wars timeline would have been like if other decisions had been made. It’s good fun and worth a watch.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past will join Disney Plus on 19 September later this year, and will run for four episodes.

Showrunners Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit confirmed Jar Jar will star alongside other beloved Star Wars characters, possibly through another Darth Jar Jar appearance.

These animated reprisals are great but personally, I’d love to see him return in live-action, even if it’s just a cameo.
