Skyrim player finds secret ending after 1,000 hours, no mods needed

An Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim player has found a secret ending to one of the game’s quests that you might have not known about.

God only knows when The Elder Scrolls VI will be released, but for now it’s safe to say the majority of Bethesda fans are content with replaying Skyrim for the time being, and who can blame them considering it’s a masterpiece.

That being said, players have sunk a lot of hours into the game over the years, with some players finishing literally everything there is to do in the game.

While Skyrim is indeed the gift that keeps on giving, there might be some of you out there who are yet to know all of its secrets, one of which is a secret ending to one of the game’s quests.

One of Whiterun’s quests sees the player aim to restore the Gildergreen tree, which every player will be familiar with as its slap bang in the middle of town.

The quest sees the player restore it to full health by finding sap from its parent tree, but a player who logged 1,000 hours onto the game has revealed you can actually find an entirely new sapling to take the tree’s place.

The user’s Reddit post about the quest said “you can save everyone in the Eldergleam sanctuary by just talking to Maurice and following his lead,” which should get you the alternate ending.

It doesn’t change a whole lot in Whiterun, with the most noticeable difference being alternative dialogue for some of the characters, but it’s nice to have the option nonetheless.

Hopefully The Elder Scrolls VI features just as many secrets to uncover, though it sort of has to if it wants to stick around as long as Skyrim has.
