Simpsons Hit And Run returns with multiplayer, letting you can cause chaos with friends

It's complete chaos...

The best Simpsons game ever made just got multiplayer, somehow making it even better.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again it’s criminal that a remake, or at the very least a remaster of The Simpsons Hit & Run hasn’t happened yet, but at least modders are doing what actual developers can’t or won't.

Check out some of the best Simpsons games ever made below

For those who haven’t had the pleasure of playing it, think of the game as The Simpsons take on Grand Theft Auto, though with less brutal murder and more slapstick comedy.

Players can take control of some beloved Simpsons characters as well as drive a number of iconic vehicles from the show, like the family sedan, Mr Plow, Otto’s school bus and even a Duff Beer van.

It’s a phenomenal game, so it’s infuriating that it hasn’t been touched since, especially with news that a sequel could have happened.

Previously you could only play this game solo, but if you’re on PC and have access to mods you can now turn the Simpsons version of GTA V into the Simpsons version of GTA V Online.

Gameplay of the mod shows several players roaming the streets of Springfield, crashing into each, booting each other in the face and generally causing more chaos than we’ve ever seen in the game before.

It’s said the in-game missions won’t work with multiplayer, but you can at least cruise around and run some things over, which was half the fun of the game anyway alongside doing cool tricks and finding secrets.

Unfortunately the mod is incredibly hard to find, and I’d be very careful before you start haphazardly downloading things off the internet.

Fingers-crossed though that a modding team is inspired by the gameplay and puts together an official and trusted add-on to the game, cause I’m sure we’d all love the opportunity to revisit Springfield with our friends.
