The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt can step aside, because Ghost of Yōtei might just have the best mini-game around.
After what felt like an age of waiting, Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Yōtei finally graced us with its presence earlier this month, and it did not disappoint.
Set around 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yōtei stars a new protagonist, a vengeful ronin named Atsu, hellbent on slaying the Yōtei Six.
“Ghost of Yōtei is pure cinematic brilliance, and Sucker Punch Productions deserves to be commended once more for knocking it out of the park and, in some ways, topping its predecessor,” I said in my review.

“I’m somewhat torn between this and Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, but without question, Ghost of Yōtei is one of the absolute best games of 2025.”
Ghost of Yōtei has fantastic combat, a rewarding levelling up system, fun side-quests, gorgeous visuals and a sublime soundtrack. In a nutshell, there’s a lot to enjoy about this game.
However, it also has a quite fantastic mini-game called ‘Zeni Hajik’, which has a simple premise but can be quite challenging to master. It can also reward you with in-game currency and charms, which can give certain abilities a buff.

Do not sleep on Zeni Hajik
Basically, you have to flick coins into another coin, with it ricocheting into another or without a coin falling off the table. You only have a set amount of turns to beat your opponent, but with each successful shot, you get consecutive turns. That said, if you get a winning streak from the beginning, it can feel a bit broken with your opponent not having a chance.

If you miss, hit another coin, or one falls off the table, it’s your opponent's turn. Zeni Hajik also makes good use of the DualSense’s adaptive triggers, which use the sensitivity of the triggers to determine the power of your shot. The concept is easy, but getting the power of your flick just right can be more difficult than it sounds.
Some might say that Zeni Hajik could be better than ‘Gwent’ in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. I wouldn't say that, per se, but some might, and that would be a fair, subjective claim to make.
“Zeni Hajik is one of the best mini-games in video game history,” declared gorays21.
“Agree! Definitely a very nice touch! It offers a nice break in between the bloody battles,” said Novel-Outcome614.

“Facts,” agreed Vblive24.
To no surprise, whatsoever, much of the thread replied to state that ‘Gwent’ is the better mini-game.
“It’s definitely fun. My favourite mini game has got to be ‘Gwent’ from The Witcher 3, though,” replied Spirits850.
