Uncharted fans are growing more concerned that we won't be getting a new game anytime soon, and I’m with them.
Despite the clunky Sixaxis motion controllers that Sony insisted that we use to throw grenades, I was instantly won over by 2007’s Uncharted: Drake's Fortune on the PlayStation 3.
Arguably, the Uncharted series starring the charismatically charming Nathan Drake, Victor Sullivan, Elena Fisher and Chloe Fraser would improve with each new release.
To be honest, for me, it’s tough to choose which is the best entry in the series between Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

However, Uncharted 4 originally released on the PlayStation 4 in 2016, and not taking into account any remasters or spin-offs, that’s the last new release we’ve had in the Naughty Dog series.
To put that into further perspective, we’ve not had a new Uncharted game for nearly a decade. It’s looking increasingly likely that the PlayStation 5 will be the first console not to have a new game in this series, which would be a crime.
I suppose we could argue that Naughty Dog is probably too busy working on the yet-to-be announced The Last of Us Part III, but there are still plenty of stories to tell in Uncharted, even if those stories eventually lead to Nathan Drake not being the main protagonist.
“Why hasn't Uncharted 5 still not been announced?” asked Redditor sKullsHavezzz.

“I’m not anticipating it anytime soon. Uncharted 4 was a perfect ending, and The Lost Legacy was a nice bonus,” said Ghidorah_Stan_64.
“I agree that Uncharted 4 was a perfect ending, but The Lost Legacy to me felt like a setup for more. Now it feels like there’s a void that needs to be filled,” replied DominatorDixon.
“I'd take a spin off with Sully and Sam, or just a younger Sully,” suggested Retrobetty.
“Uncharted is over, let's be real. This is the Naughty Dog way. They're moving on,” exclaimed GurpsK, bringing the doom and gloom.

“It leaves such a void in gaming as there is nothing out there like it,” wrote the dejected AleroRatking.
So the question remains, will Naughty Dog release Uncharted 5, and if it does, will it arrive on PlayStation 5 or could it be a next-gen title? We’ll update you if we learn more.
