The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is easily one of the best games of all-time, but it’s also notably exclusive to Nintendo Switch systems.
There’s nothing wrong with that; every console system boasts its own exclusive line-up, but it’s not always financially viable for gamers to have one of every system.
If you’re a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 owner who’s never had the opportunity to try Breath of the Wild, a very strong alternative just received a 90 percent discount.
These days, people hear the name Ubisoft and sigh, tired of the gaming giant’s open-world formula.

And while, yes, Ubisoft has delivered a few formulaic releases over the years, the brilliant and underrated Immortals Fenyx Rising isn’t one of them.

Featuring gliding, puzzle-based dungeons, and an open-world packed with locations you can explore in any order, Immortals Fenyx Rising shares quite a lot in common with Breath of the Wild.
It did originally launch six years ago, so its RRP has dropped over time to £34.99 / $39.99. However, you can currently secure it for just £3.49 / $5.99 on the PlayStation Store.

The whopping 90 percent discount is sticking around until October 7, so you have plenty of time to secure your copy.
It’s worth pointing out that pricing may vary by region, plus Immortals Fenyx Rising is included in PlayStation Plus extra tier if you’d prefer to access it that way.
The Extra tier line-up does change though so for just a couple of quid, you could secure a copy that’s yours to keep.
Going for full completion in Immortals Fenyx Rising will take you upwards of 60 hours
Fair to say, Immortals Fenyx Rising stands apart from the vast majority of Ubisoft’s output which is very much focused on reliable IP.
The idea for the game actually arose during the development of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey when a bizarre bug turned a ship of human NPCs into one of giant cyclopes.
As you’ve perhaps gathered then, Immortals Fenyx Rising is very much based on Greek mythology, describing itself as a “grand mythological adventure”.
You step into the shoes of Fenyx who is tasked with saving the Greek gods from a dark curse.
As mentioned earlier, after departing the game’s tutorial, you’ll be dropped into a sprawling open-world which you can explore at your own pace, heading off in any direction you want.
Throughout your journey, you’ll fight mythological beasts, master new godly powers, and defeat the deadly titan Typhon, but there’s largely no set path in how you’re required to approach things.
As with most open-world titles, Immortals Fenyx Rising will require you to solve your fair share of puzzles as you explore vaults around the map.
There are also some great traversal mechanics too, with Fenyx able to glide, climb, and make use of mounts with a stamina system dictating the character’s ability.

Immortals Fenyx Rising doesn’t achieve quite the same level of perfection as Breath of the Wild, but it still scored a very respectable 81 upon release on Metacritic.
On the PlayStation Store, it sits at 4.25 stars out of five, with 63 percent of players awarding a perfect score of five.
It has a runtime of around 25 to 60 hours depending on whether you opt to focus on the main story or all objectives.
With a 90 percent discount then, it’s more than worth picking up.
