PS5 owners shouldn’t miss their last chance to add this freebie to their library, as you don’t even need PlayStation Plus for it.

If you already have PlayStation Plus, that’s great news as October has brought some splendid additions to the subscription service if you have either an Extra or Premium membership.

For those who don’t have one though don’t fret as out of the kindness of its heart PlayStation is currently offering a limited-time freebie for one of its weirdly satisfying games.

It comes from the Train Simulator series, as PlayStation players can now claim the Train Sim World 6 starter back for nothing.

Now I’m sure a lot of you are thinking - 'a train game? What could be fun about that?' - and I’m fully with you there. But give it a chance.

If you like simulator games in general you’ll probably like these games, and if you don’t just look at the success PowerWash Simulator had despite being such a simple concept. It got so popular it earned a sequel which is out now on all platforms.

Train Simulator 6’s starter pack is now the full game but more of a trial, giving you a taste of what the full game would be like without the need for a purchase.

The trial includes access to the following: Training Center test track route, British 8F steam locomotive, British Class 66 diesel locomotive, American SD40-2 diesel locomotive, German BR 146 electric locomotive and Previous Content Compatibility. Now I’m not a train guy so I don’t know what any of those locomotives are about, but I’m sure someone out there is excited.

As I said before you don’t need PlayStation Plus for it, so there’s literally no barrier to entry in terms of monetary value, you just need to download it.

Of course that’s easier said than done as I know you all have limited hard drive space given all the AAA bangers that have been coming out recently, but if you fancy clearing up some space there’s a trick you might be overlooking.

Train Sim World 6’s starter pack won’t be around forever as it’ll be leaving the PlayStation Store on 11 Novembers, so whether you fancy playing it right now or think you might later, I’d just claim it anyway so you’ve got it.

Who knows, you might like trains more than you think you would.
