PlayStation users are being urged to claim free store credit before it’s too late.
Earlier this year, Sony revealed that it would be shuttering the PlayStation Stars service, meaning gamers will lose out on free store credit they can get just for making purchases and completing easy campaigns.
PlayStation Stars is a service where you gain a certain number of points just by buying things on the PS4 or PS5 store, whether that’s games, DLC, or even in-game currencies.
For example, a single purchase could get you 200 points depending on how much you spent. But you’d need to save up 1,250 points to get £5 worth of free store credit.

It’s been announced that PlayStation Stars will shut down on 23 July at 3.59pm BST, at which point you will no longer be able to earn points or join any campaigns.
However, you’ve still got three days left to wrack up some last minute additions, which is good as the PlayStation Summer Sale is currently going on.
The good news? Those points don’t expire yet, as you’ll have until 2nd November, 2026 to redeem them and use them on new purchases.
So, it’s just points you can’t earn after Wednesday.

If you’re not a member and thinking of signing up just for these three days, you’re also out of luck. PlayStation Stars stopped accepting new members as soon as the announcement it was shutting down was made.
So consider this your official warning to earn those last few points while you still can. It might just mean you’re able to pick up a nice discount on a new game coming later down the line.
Considering the likes of Ghost of Yotei, 007 First Light, and GTA VI are all slated to launch later this year or into 2026, it might be worth doing before it's too late.
