PlayStation 5 Pro users are hopefully going to get their money’s worth thanks to a new update coming to their consoles.

It’s about time as well, because while some of the enhanced titles on the PlayStation 5 Pro do look good, it’s still very hard to justify the price of the console, especially for someone thinking of upgrading from the base model.

If you don’t own a PlayStation though and have the right TV, the PS5 Pro is at least worth considering

Over the next few months though things are reportedly going to change as Sony recently confirmed that it’ll be upgrading the PS5 Pro’s PSSR.

For those who don’t know what PSSR means it stands for PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, a fancy way of talking about the console’s resolution output and something only the PS5 Pro has.

It uses AI to make games look better, though many have reported it can sometimes make the game look worse, no doubt the fault of the AI.

Nevertheless it’s confirmed that it will be updated over time so it’ll hopefully yield better results, and provide a better reason to upgrade to the latest PS5 model.

Keep in mind that it should be your TV that’s the deciding factor in this though, as it doesn’t matter how powerful your console is if it’s not being paired with a TV capable of displaying it properly.

Alternatively you can just wait for the PlayStation 6, which likely won’t launch for a couple of years yet but it is on the way, though again you’ll likely need to upgrade your TV for it.

Xbox is reportedly taking a similar approach with its next console, as rumour has it that it’ll essentially be the closest a console has gotten to the PC, but made to be used with a TV rather than a monitor.
