PlayStation Plus has never matched Xbox Game Pass’ offering of day one releases.
That being said, the Sony subscription service isn’t totally without day one titles either.
They’re far and few between but over the years, plenty of indie and mid-sized games have debuted on PlayStation Plus day one.
That line-up includes the likes of Stray, Fall Guys, Bugsnax, Tchia, Sea of Stars, The Plucky Squire, Dave The Diver, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, Animal Well, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, Blue Prince, and Abiotic Factor.

When you look back, there are actually far more day one releases than you might assume with one PlayStation executive having teased that more are on the way.
Throughout the remainder of 2026, PlayStation Plus will once again play host to a small, curated line-up of day one releases.
In an interview with The Game Business, second and third-party head at PlayStation Chris Svensson reiterated PlayStation Plus’ commitment to its existing model.
“We don’t do very many day one titles. We do them largely for indies, and there’s probably between four and six a year that we focus on,” he said.
To date, no day one games have landed on PlayStation Plus so far in 2026, so that should mean that approximately four to six games that fit that bill are on the way in the coming months.
We do know that Big Walk is launching as a day one game later this year, as confirmed in a previous State of Play.
Big Walk remains without a release date but it’s a charming co-op multiplayer adventure from developer House House and publisher Panic.
It essentially sees players buddy up with their friends to explore a sprawling open-world.

It’s all very relaxing and low-stakes.
“Set out with your friends through a wide-open world full of challenges, puzzles, and discoveries,” the synopsis reads.
“You’ll need to work together to find your way around, stay in contact using an assortment of tools and toys, and figure out new ways to communicate when you suddenly find yourself speechless.
“Adventuring aside, there’s plenty of time to just hang out. Sit and watch the sunset, or steal your friend’s binoculars and kick them into the ocean. Spending time with friends is the best part of a big walk.”
As soon as a launch date is made available, we’ll bring that to you.
PlayStation Plus will rear its head later today as the service’s extra and premium tier line-up for May is due to be announced.
We know that Time Crisis will be landing on the premium tier next week as that too was revealed during a former State of Play.
The remainder of the line-up remains a mystery but we’ll be bringing you that news in just a few short hours.
