PlayStation Plus subscribers roast replacement for Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Maybe avoid the comment section on this one, for your own mental wellbeing

Well, there’s absolutely no way this article isn’t about to incite some culture war nonsense so buckle up folks, because the comment section on this one is gonna be rough.

So, you may have heard that Dragon Age: The Veilguard is included in March’s PlayStation Plus monthly games line-up, alongside Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection and Sonic Colors.

Only problem with that is that Dragon Age: The Veilguard is actually banned in parts of the Middle East, such as for instance in the United Arab Emirates.

This is because in parts of the Middle East, including Iran, Afghanistan, Yemen and the United Arab Emirates, it’s illegal to be gay. In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, every single one of your romanceable companions are pansexual. Hopefully you’ve started putting two and two together here.

To rectify this, Sony has revealed that PlayStation Plus players in the Middle East will instead get Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin - a game that is, by all accounts, a bit rubbish.

This information comes by way of a post on the r/PlayStationPlus subreddit, and I don’t recommend reading through the comment section on the post unless you enjoy reading through a bunch of bollocks about stuff being “woke”.

Instead, here’s a couple of comments I’ve picked out for you from two of the only levelheaded people I could find.

“realms of ruin is a actual 2/10 game its awful,” commented one user.

“So daemons are completely okay but lord forbid some adventurers are very fond of each other,” replied user RammyJammy07.

At the risk of getting death threats absolutely blasted in my Twitter inbox, what I will say is that the folks spamming stuff like “Middle East W” in the comments should probably take more than five seconds to think about why a game like Dragon Age: The Veilguard is banned in the Middle East.

Wilfully siding with hate just because you wanted an opportunity to moan about “DEI” or the “woke mind virus” isn't the move.
