PlayStation Plus' latest free games lineup blows fans away

This AAA game is less than 6 months old!

March’s PlayStation Plus monthly games line-up has dropped, and most of us can’t quite believe our eyes.

Sony just announced what games we can expect to find on PlayStation Plus next month, and all three of them are absolute bangers - but one very specific game is raising more than a few eyebrows.

That’s because March’s monthly games are Sonic Colors, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection and… Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Yup, that’s right - a AAA game that came out in October of last year, received rave reviews from critics and also happens to be the fourth entry in a long running franchise has already found its way onto PlayStation Plus.

Over in a thread on the r/PlayStationPlus subreddit, fans shared their reactions to the announcement.

“Getting a AAA game that came out less than six months ago and got 80/100 on Opencritic is pretty nice,” commented user Rututu.

“Not a big Dragon Age fan, but I'll definitely check it out!”

“Well happy with TMNT collection nearly bought that a few times,” replied user SkankyChris.

“Might try Sonic since I'm a fan of the old games on the Master System and Mega Drive.”

“Ngl shocked to see Dragon Age here,” commented user Gwendly, “it's just at the price point where I'd be willing to try it myself now.”

Gotta admit, even as a Dragon Age fan, it’s tough to rationalise its inclusion on PlayStation Plus being anything but a negative for the franchise’s longevity.

If it was selling well, I don’t think EA would have signed off on letting it make its way onto PS Plus (unless of course Sony forked over a boatload of cash).

I think Dragon Age: The Veilguard making its way onto the monthly games list might be the final nail in the series’ coffin, as much as it pains me to say.
