A new PlayStation 5 upgrade for a PlayStation Plus title has (seemingly accidentally) caused the game to become inaccessible for the majority of PS Plus users.

As spotted by True Trophies' Sean Lawson, the new PlayStation 5 upgrade for Sayonara Wild Hearts has caused the game to disappear from the PlayStation Plus Extra catalogue.

However, as one commenter in a thread over on the r/PlayStationPlus subreddit spotted, the press release for Sayonara Wild Hearts’ update specifically states that the PlayStation 5 upgrade for the game is “also available in the PlayStation Plus Extra Game Catalog for subscribers”.

“Hopefully they can quickly add the PS5 upgrade to PS Plus,” continued user ZXXII, “Technically you can still download the PS4 version if added to your library.”

“It’s still not live,” they later added in an edit, “It’s really poor how long this is taking.”

Take a look at the game in action below.

“I was aiming to get the platinum in the next few days so hope it hasn't gone and this is just an oversight that will be fixed,” replied user 10pencefredo.

“It was only added recently. I just checked my PS5 and I am able to load the game at the moment as I had it installed. Hopefully the license keeps working.”

Based on the press release from the publishers, it does seem that this is an oversight.

Perhaps the PlayStation 5 version of the game is set to be added to the PlayStation Plus Extra catalogue later on down the line, or was potentially just meant to replace the PS4 version entirely, but something went a bit haywire in the process.

Either way, I think this one will get resolved pretty quickly. Thankfully, it doesn’t sound like anyone who still has the game installed has been affected, so a quick update to the PlayStation Store should sort this one out pronto.
