PlayStation Plus reveals free game line-up for March

Sony has announced the next batch of free PlayStation Plus games for March 2025 and it includes some bangers, including Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

While PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers offer a lot of video games to add to our library as well as retro games and additional perks, the cheapest tier has one distinct advantage over its bigger siblings.

As long as you maintain an active subscription, the games you add to your PlayStation Plus library from the Essential tier will always remain accessible. That’s unless, in the unlikely event, Sony or a publisher related to the game decides to remove it.

Otherwise, once that free PlayStation Plus Essential game has been added to the library, it’s practically yours to keep forever. This brings me to the topic of today’s story, the newly announced PS Plus Essential March 2025 line-up.

The free PlayStation Plus Essential games for next month are: Dragon Age: The Veilguard (PS5), Sonic Colors: Ultimate (PS5/PS4) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection (PS5/PS4).

It’s a massive surprise to see Dragon Age: The Veilguard being given away so early in PS Plus, as great as that is to see. After all, it was only released on 31 October 2025.

In our review of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, GAMINGbible’s Emma said: “From the moment I stepped onto Minrathous’ streets, it felt like coming home. After such an agonising wait, the franchise I adore is back as strong as ever. It respects what’s gone before while also welcoming change and innovation.”

As for the other two games, Sonic Colors: Ultimate is a great addition and so too is TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection, which features tons of retro TMNT games of yesteryear. So it’s fair to say that PS Plus Essential for March 2025 is quite the banger.

PlayStation Plus Essential games are always available on the first Tuesday of every month, which means that you’ll be able to play all of the above on Tuesday 4 March 2025.
