PlayStation Plus surprise free game has left fans absolutely stunned

A welcome surprise!

PlayStation Plus subscribers were surprised earlier this week when a relatively new AAA game was featured in the free March 2025 line-up.

Each month, Sony announces the next batch of goodness coming to its PlayStation Plus subscription service for its three tiers, Essential, Extra and Premium. However, some months can be hit or miss, depending on your perspective.

Check out the Dragon Age: The Veilguard trailer below!

That being said, I think it’s fair to say that the PS Plus games for March 2025 are absolute bangers with the likelihood of subscribers finding at least one of the three games offering value for money.

On Wednesday, it was announced that not only were we getting Sonic Colors: Ultimate and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, but also the latest release from BioWare with Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Keeping in mind that Dragon Age: The Veilguard was only released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 31 October 2024. It’s not often that we see a big AAA third-party release arrive on PS Plus just five to six months after its initial launch.

In our review of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, GAMINGbible’s Emma said: “From the moment I stepped onto Minrathous’ streets, it felt like coming home. After such an agonising wait, the franchise I adore is back as strong as ever. It respects what’s gone before while also welcoming change and innovation.”

“Dragon Age?!! The new one?” replied a surprised KickinWithKush to a tweet from PlayStation.

“Why is Dragon Age: The Veilguard on PS Plus, didn’t this one get released not too long ago?” asked ShadePJ.

“Dragon Age: The Veilguard already? Wtf!” exclaimed DudaMadaluk.

“Oh damn, a rare good month,” said daviddoel.

It’s certainly a fantastic month and PS Plus April 2025 has a tough act to follow. Now if you excuse me, I have some crime fighting to do as I prepare to play TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection.
