PlayStation Plus subscribers are oddly optimistic about October’s free games, following several disappointing months for the service.

While many gave up on PlayStation Plus a while ago, many jumped ship as soon as Sony announced its quiet price hike for all tiers of its subscription service.

Those who stuck around in the hopes the raised price would result in higher quality free games and other improvements to the PlayStation experience have been left sorely disappointed. Not only has September’s offering been perceived as lacklustre, there was also a problem with online multiplayer that booted everyone offline, leading to additional frustration from fans.

Regardless, some fans are still clinging to the hope that the service will improve over time, with many having high expectations for October’s free monthly games.

On the official PlayStation Plus subreddit, fans have made their own competition where they try to guess upcoming monthly games to earn points in a tournament.

With September coming to a close, it’s now time for fans to state their guesses for what October might bring.

“Little Nightmares II, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, Kao The Kangaroo”

“Dying Light 2, Resident Evil 2, House of Ashes”

“Resident evil 3 remake/ Village, Visage, Little nightmares 2”

Of course, the comments weren’t short of more sarcastic, and arguably realistic, guesses, poking fun at the lack of AAA releases featured on the subscription service recently.

“Disappointment, regret and Knack.”

“Rugby 15, Lawn mowing simulator, Road rage, Let's gooooooo”

“One game I bought recently, one game I've owned for years and a random live service game that will be dead within a year”

Given that October is obviously the spooky month, it’s more than likely the upcoming PlayStation Plus games will include at least one decent horror game, maybe even a few if Sony decides to be generous.
