PlayStation Plus’ September free game line-up has now landed on the extra tier.
Admittedly, this wasn’t the most interesting month.
Extra tier subscribers can now enjoy WWE 2K25, Green Hell, Fate/Samurai Remnant, Crow Country, The Invincible, and Conscript.
There’s one more title I haven’t mentioned; it’s an RPG that won’t take you forever to complete.

I’m talking about Atlus, P-Studio, and SEGA’s Persona 5 Tactica.
Persona 5 Tactica is, rather unsurprisingly, a tactical RPG that runs alongside Persona 5 / Persona 5 Royal.
Here, the Phantom Thieves of Hearts are transported to an alternate world that’s dominated by war and oppression.
They team up with a group of freedom fighters known as the Rebel Corps to stage a revolution.

It originally launched in 2023 and did so to largely positive reviews, albeit on the lower end of the positive-leaning spectrum.
NME awarded a respectable score of eight, writing, “Persona 5 Tactica is a confident entry into Atlus’ growing catalogue of Persona 5 spin-offs, offering fans more time with the original game’s cast of lovable misfits.”
“The turn-based tactical twist serves as a great vehicle to blend intelligent combat with a delicate story that often leaves you theorising what could come next, both in the narrative and Tactica’s enjoyable arenas.”
Edge Magazine opted for a slightly more critical score of six, saying, “Indeed, Tactica is very much a Persona 5 game, with all that entails: conceptually sound, visually stylish, lovingly assembled - and needlessly drawn out.”

You won’t know which side of the divide you fall on until you give the game a whirl yourself, and it won’t take you an age to complete.
According to How Long To Beat, Persona 5 Tactica takes an average of 24 hours to tackle its main story.
If you want to do side quests as well, you’re looking at around 30 and a half hours.
For completionists, it’s just under 40 hours which isn’t all that bad.

So many RPGs these days want you to see 70 hours through just to finish off the main narrative and let’s face it, most of us just don’t have that much time available.
I’ve noticed I’m fitting in way less long games than I used to, but this seems manageable, so consider giving it a whirl this month.
Don’t forget to also nab this month's essential tier line-up on PlayStation Plus too.
You can enjoy Psychonauts 2, Stardew Valley, and Viewfinder.

The next news drop will be the October essential line-up which is scheduled to be announced on 1 October.
Those games will then be released a week later on 7 October.
We’ll bring the announcement to you as it happens.
