PlayStation Plus users quietly surprised with major free download

Talk about a massive win

Sometimes, we are blessed. PlayStation Plus subscribers know that better than most after this download was announced.

Say what you want about the PlayStation service, but PS Plus can still drop bangers when it wants to.

If you’re still riding the high of being “instantly hooked” to a recently added free game, we’re here to help wean you off and focus your attention elsewhere.

But be warned though, you might struggle to switch off from this free PlayStation download, too.

Check out the Remnant II launch trailer below

Ever since its launch last year, quite a few gamers have been eagerly awaiting the third and final DLC for Remnant II.

Unfortunately, there’s been a slight setback with its launch.

Originally, the final DLC for the game was intended to be released this September.

However, that plan has had to be scrapped, with Gunfire posting, “We’ve made the difficult decision to move back the release of our third DLC, so that we have more time to deliver you the best possible experience that you deserve.”

Although gutting news for fans, there’s an additional silver lining to this cloud.

A major free download in the form of a new game mode has been introduced.

“Not only have we packed this DLC full of even more of the Remnant greatness [...] we’re also hard at work on a brand-new game mode that will be free for everyone that we’ll reveal soon along with a new progression system,” the statement continues.

Furthermore, to help players plan for when the DLC arrives, the co-op shooter is now available to play via PS Plus.

Let’s face it, a massive game being free of charge (in a manner of speaking) is a huge win despite the crushing blow of the DLC delay.

PS Plus subscribers can now join the Xbox Game Pass players who’ve been enjoying this game for free since last year.

It’s time to move out and start that new playthrough of Remnant II.
