PlayStation Plus users warn new free game had them 'instantly hooked'

However sometimes the open-world masterpieces like Red Dead Redemption 2 and the thrilling narratives like God Of War can hide all of the awesome indie games the service offers, many of which are hidden gems.

PlayStation Plus subscribers on Reddit have put together a thread to highlight some of these underrated titles, one of which is called Tinykin, which got the player “instantly hooked” apparently.

For those who’ve never heard of it Tinykin is a small puzzle-platformer that you can play on PlayStation, Xbox, PC and even Nintendo Switch.

It sees the player navigate through 12 unique levels where players must control a 2D character in a 3D world.

Speaking about the game, Reddit user aa95xaaaxv said: “I recently started playing Tinykin and it got me instantly hooked. Not only is this game beautiful and creative, it’s stress and combat free … I guess any game can feel boring to some people, but this one makes the process of collecting items very enjoyable to me.”

You can play the game from start to finish at no additional cost on the PlayStation Plus Extra tier right now.

Other subscribers shared their own choices of instant hook games, with one saying “Dredge, loved the game loop and the vibe,” and another adding “Inscryption … super dense atmosphere. but you have to go in blind and don't look anything up.”

So if you’re looking for some hidden gems to play in-between the next big releases, be sure to check out Reddit from time to time, and PlayStation itself has a list of indie titles on its official store page.
