It’s happened again. PlayStation Plus users can take advantage of an exploit to bag themselves a free game.
You may recall that a similar blunder recently took place, allowing PlayStation Plus subscribers to nab a free copy of CarX Street.
This time around, it’s Stardew Valley you can supposedly secure which has just landed on PlayStation Plus’ essential tier.
That means that if you have an essential tier subscription, it’s yours to keep as long as you remain a subscriber, whereas this exploit will make the game yours regardless of whether you hold a subscription or not.

Strangely though, you need a PS Vita or PS3 to take advantage of this exploit so it’s a little niche.
As shared by Wario64, you need to claim the PS4 version of Stardew Valley on PlayStation Plus.
Then, use a PS Vita or PS3 to search for Stardew Valley and it should be free via cross-buy.
It’s then yours to freely own on both platforms, whether that be PS Vita and PS4 or PS3 and PS4.

Obviously as this is an exploit, there’s no saying how long it’ll remain ‘usable’.
ConcernedApe or Sony could shut the loophole and honestly, I couldn’t blame them for that.
In fact, I personally don't recommend you use the loophole at all.
ConcernedApe is one of the most beloved indie developers in the industry, who pours his heart and soul into creating new content for Stardew Valley.

I don’t think the game’s asking price of £11.49 on PlayStation is a lot to pay as a token of appreciation and support for all of his hard work.
Some users are reporting that they don’t even need to jump over these hurdles.
It’s claimed that securing the game via PlayStation Plus and then heading over to the PS Store on that same console will also permit you to permanently add the game to your library for free, but the success rate on this one is mixed.
So have a play around, if you so wish; or simply show your support for ConcernedApe. The ball’s in your court.
