Being a PlayStation Plus subscriber can be like a game of roulette depending on how the Sony gods want to treat us from one month to the next.

Some months can see day-one releases or hit AAA titles added to the service whilst others offer 'underrated' games that should perhaps remain underrated.

However, there is no denying that being a PlayStation Plus member will save you tons of money by taking advantage of its monthly game additions as well as its extensive library.

That being said, one highly controversial feature of PS Plus has recently come under fire once again following a preview of an upcoming addition.

This discussion follows a recent post over on r/PlayStationPlus where one user shared, “Space Marine 2 is coming to PS Plus?"

“If you navigate to the PS Plus 15th anniversary section and watch the video, towards the end of it you'll get a section showing a sneak peak of what's to come (or something similar),” they explained.

Although it is currently unclear in which capacity Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will be added to the PS Plus library, the poster is worried that it may just be via a game trial which is, admittedly, incredibly likely.

Game trials are a feature accessible via the Premium tier and allow subscribers to access a game for a select period of time in order to try it out and see if they want to commit to purchasing the full title.

Games such as Stellar Blade and Cyberpunk 2077 have had game trials in the past and although it still offers free content, some players are fed up with Sony marketing “free games” just for them to be two-hour trials - and behind a Premium paywall at that.

“I swear Sony only invented game trials so they could mislead people into thinking these games are on PS+ catalog,” user awsmrabbit21 shared.

As for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, the third-person shooter was first released back in 2024 so it makes sense that it will be arriving as just a free trial for now rather than a whole game added to the PS Plus library.

However, we may be surprised when Sony announces the brand-new games which will be arriving to the service later this month.
