PlayStation Plus’ extra tier isn’t simply home to a sprawling game catalogue. It’s also where you can find a wide array of free game add-ons.

They’re most definitely overlooked by most subscribers given that PlayStation Plus doesn’t particularly advertise the arrival of such add-ons.

It’s for this reason though that Reddit user kabirsingh84 has pointed out that there are 12 free add-on packs that fans of Monster Hunter Rise should make use of.

Monster Hunter Rise Arrives On PS Plus Today, With Plenty of Bonus Items Up For Grabs

As a reminder, Monster Hunter Rise is available on the essential tier from today as one of March’s monthly games, so you may as well nab these bonus items if you do have an extra tier subscription.

The 12 stuff packs grant Monster Hunter Rise players access to unique costumes, hairstyles, a character edit voucher, and other in-game buffs like bonus items.

To name just one example, the Monster Hunter Rise - Bonus Pack: A Gift from Chicae 2 pack includes 20 Farcasters, 20 Friend Vouchers, 10 Shock Traps, 20 Thunderbugs, 20 Trap Tools, and 20 Tranq Bombs.

As you’ve likely gathered, these add-on packs don’t revolutionise the gameplay, but the items on offer should make your experience just a tad sweeter.

If you’ve not yet played Monster Hunter Rise, it’s perhaps an apt hopping-on point for newcomers given how unique it feels.

It stands somewhat apart from the rest of the franchise, offering faster paced combat and newcomer friendly progression.

Upon release, the title garnered a very respectable ‘Generally Favourable’ review score of 88, with a similar score of 8.3 from users.

“This is the game that the Monster Hunter franchise should have been all along,” said ScreenRant, awarding the game a perfect score of 10.

“The annoying parts of the experience that were retained due to tradition have finally been stripped away, leaving a polished, enjoyable experience for newcomers that will make long-time fans equally happy. Monster Hunter Rise is Monster Hunter at its finest.”

Siliconera rated the game a nine out of 10, saying, “Monster Hunter Rise is without a doubt one of the best Monster Hunter games I have ever played, if not the best outright. It caters to new and veteran players effortlessly, and while some accessibility issues hold it back from outright being a perfect game, it really offers the best of both worlds.”

It arrives on the essential tier today worldwide alongside PGA Tour 2K25, Slime Rancher 2, and The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road Edition.
