If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, particularly one to the service’s extra or premium tier, you’ll know how hard it can be deciding which game to download and play next. After all, there’s simply so much to choose from.

If you’re here reading this article though, I’m guessing you’re after a Red Dead Redemption-esque adventure. Well, allow me to step in and recommend Desperados III which is currently available on the extra tier. If you’re not a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you can pick the game up on sale right now for £8.74, down from £34.99. This offer is expected to last until 13 March. If you’re unfamiliar with Desperados III, developed by Mimimi Games, this real-time tactics game landed on the scene back in 2020.

Take a look at Desperados III in action below.

“In this long-awaited prequel to the beloved classic Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive, John Cooper will join forces with the runaway bride Kate, the shady hitman Doc McCoy, the giant trapper Hector, and Isabelle, a mysterious lady from New Orleans. On Cooper’s quest for redemption, his adventures lead him and his gang from rural towns, over swamps and riverbanks, and finally to a dramatic showdown worthy of Wild West legends,” reads the synopsis. Featuring stealth gameplay, an engaging narrative, and an innovative ‘showdown mode’, there’s a lot to enjoy in Desperados III.

Over on Metacritic, the game boasts a very respectable score of 86, with players awarding 8.3. God is a Geek wrote, “Incredibly well put-together and intricately crafted by a developer at the top of their field, Desperados III is a genuine masterpiece of stealth, Stetsons, and steely-eyed heroics,” while DualShockers added, “Everything it does, it does incredibly well. Whether you’re looking to hop into stealth tactics for the first time or you’re an old pro, I would wholeheartedly recommend you check out Desperados III. It is, without question, one of the best games I’ve played all year.”

The game’s earned a similar level of praise on the PlayStation Store, with a rating of 4.46 out of five. You never know how long titles are going to stay available on PS Plus, so do dive into this gem if it’s of interest before it’s too late.
