PlayStation Plus users are in for a treat thanks to this stunning free download.

Debates over the value of PlayStation’s subscription service can wait, for as far as we’re concerned right now, that monthly fee is worth it when you get beauties like this included.

Those of you who pay for PlayStation Plus can enjoy up to two and a half hours of Alan Wake 2.

Played Alan Wake 2 already? What about the Night Springs expansion?

That may not sound like a long trial, but before you judge it too harshly think about what you’re getting here.

Alan Wake 2 is “another crown jewel in Remedy Entertainment’s library” as far as GAMINGbible’s Richard Lee Breslin is concerned.

Our review wasn’t the only favourable one at the time – multiple outlets sang the praises of the highly anticipated horror sequel.

Despite it now being several months old, the might of this continuation of Alan’s story means that it’ll still cost you a pretty penny; £49.99 to be exact.

Occasionally it’ll be discounted, but it’s still quite the price to pay if you’re unsure whether you’ll enjoy its gameplay.

This is why a demo or trial is crucial, and we do so love a try before you buy option.

Here’s the catch: you need to be a PS Plus Premium member. Sadly, just any ol’ membership won’t do here.

It’s annoying, we know, but them’s the breaks.

From what we can see on the PlayStation website, there’s no end date for this trial and thus you shouldn’t have to rush to claim this deal.

That said, we all know how quickly plans can change. To avoid disappointment, we’d advise checking out this free download sooner rather than later.

Also worthy of your attention is an “under appreciated banger” available on the service as well.

If at first you don’t find an experience to your liking, try again, because odds are PS Plus has something that caters to your interest.

We’re getting close to spooky season – what better way to prepare for it than to play some Alan Wake 2!
