PlayStation gamers can currently get their hands on a bunch of free games wrapped up in one convenient package.

Any PlayStation gamers out there looking to get stuck into something new without spending any money are in luck, especially since this particular deal doesn't require a subscription to PlayStation Plus.

Oh, and this isn't a limited-time offer or anything, so you can take your sweet time. Within reason, obviously. I don't know that you can come back in 30 years and find this game is still free. Maybe you'll be able to, but why risk it?

"So what is the free game?" I hear you cry as I attempt to pad the word count of this article with absolute twaddle. It's a little-known title called Sportsfriends, and was made free to download and keep permanently as of a few days ago.

"Sportsfriends is a compendium of award-winning local multiplayer games for living rooms, parties, and even backyards," the PlayStation Store description explains.

This collection contains a bunch of party games designed to be played with friends or family. There's a retro fighting game, a pole vaulting competition, a "sports" game, which seems like an incredibly vague description, and a jousting contest.

All of the games can be played using a standard controller, but you can use the PlayStation Move controller to enhance the experience if you fancy it.

Basically, this is the perfect game if you've a dinner party coming up and you can't bear the thought of having a conversation with whatever awful people you've made the mistake of inviting into your home.

Sportsfriends has also been made available to download and keep via Steam if you don't have a PlayStation, so be sure to get your hands on it while you can. Or don't. I'm really not in charge of what you do in your own free time.
