PlayStation 5 and PC gamers now have a new free download to check out, and you don’t even need PlayStation Plus.

One of the biggest PlayStation exclusives of recent times, Stellar Blade, was absolutely thriving when it was released in 2024.

Similarly, its PC port from last month has also found a big audience, peaking at over 192,000 concurrent players on the week of release.

Stellar Blade has received regular updates and DLC with new content following its release, and a new patch has brought more goodies for players to enjoy.

The latest update for Stellar Blade, which is patch 1.012 on PS5 and patch 1.2.0 on PC, brings seven newly arranged music tracks, as well as unlocking Hard mode from the beginning and for use in Boss Challenge mode.

Of course, also expect bug fixes and small improvements across the board too, including a new save recovery feature if your file gets corrupted.

Shift Up explains that the new patch is a “token of appreciation for all the love and support from our players”, given the critical and commercial success Stellar Blade has enjoyed across both PS5 and PC.

In addition to that, PC players can also redeem Stellar Blade badges, trading cards, backgrounds, and stickers from the Steam Points Shop to use on their profiles.

Originally released in 2024, Stellar Blade is an action game where players control Eve, a soldier sent to Earth from a space station known as The Colony to help save humankind.

It won many awards at the Korean Game Awards, and was also nominated for Best Action Game and Best Score and Music at The Game Awards in December.

Stellar Blade sold 3 million units overall by June 2025, with a third of those copies being on PC. Even today, a month after its PC release, the game still enjoys a 24-hour concurrent player peak of over 44,000 people.
