PlayStation 6 Launch Title Leaks, and It's a Banger

It hasn't been cancelled, after all

A potential PlayStation 6 launch title has just surfaced online, and it’s a game we’ve all been waiting for.

I don’t know about you but I’m not yet ready to leave my PlayStation 5 behind.

Say what you want about the supposed lack of games; if you ask me, the PS5 era has delivered some total bangers.

Astro Bot, God of War Ragnarök, and Horizon Forbidden West are easily amongst my favourite games of all-time.

Plus there’s the simple fact that I just quite like the design of the PS5.

Parting ways when the PS6 arrives is going to be difficult, but that transition could be made easier if the PS6 is to boast a banger launch line-up.

It’s already looking like that may be the case as it seems Insomniac Games’ long-rumoured Venom spin-off game could be landing on the next-gen console.

Insomniac developers teased shortly after Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s release that they were interested in a Venom spin-off, but the existence of the title wasn’t confirmed until a ransomware attack hit the studio in 2023.

In the years since, though, it’s been total radio silence from Insomniac, leading us to wonder if any projects had been canned altogether because of the attack.

Well, it seems in this case, the Venom game lives on.

This rumour comes courtesy of Twitter/X user REDACTEDSpider who seems to specialise in Marvel leaks.

“Seems like Insomniac will repeat a similar release cycle as their previous three Marvel titles: Marvel’s Wolverine, Marvel’s Venom, Marvel’s Spider-Man 3,” the tweet began.

“Venom was originally supposed to be released before Wolverine but looks like that has changed. We’re indeed supposed to get a Wolverine trailer this year.”

The user later predicted 2027 as a possible launch year for Marvel’s Venom.

I have to urge you to take this information with a pinch of salt because there’s no real contextual explanation to back up REDACTEDSpider’s intel.

That being said, his statement has been corroborated by MP1ST in an exclusive report.

The site claims, “Someone familiar with the situation has confirmed to us that Wolverine will stick to the 2026 scheduled release seen in the leaks and that the Venom project remains in development.”

If Marvel’s Venom is likely to release in 2027 or beyond and the PS6 is supposedly only two years away from launch … you can see where we’re connecting the dots.

I’m so excited to return to this franchise but you know what PS6 launch title I’d really love to see from Insomniac?

A new Ratchet & Clank. Please don’t forget about that little gem.
