It’s that time again.

Sony has rolled out a new PlayStation 5 update and while this one doesn’t introduce any new highly sought after features, it still contains some welcomed changes.

It’s Update 25.02-11.00.00 that you’ll want to be looking out for which should, as always, have downloaded automatically.

As reported by MP1ST, the update comes in at around 1.3GB.

The first change concerns activity cards which will now display “full details” making it easier to track in-game progress while still keeping spoilers hidden.

If you’re someone who uses emojis in the console’s messaging system, Unicode 16.0 emojis are now supported, expanding the number of options available to you.

Ghost of Yōtei is set to launch on PlayStation 5 this year, although the game remains without a release date.

Over in the parental control adjustment settings, if the restriction level is set to “Late Teens or Older”, the default setting for Communication and User-Generated Content will now be set to Restrict.

It goes on to say that previous custom settings will remain unchanged.

As per usual, the update includes “system software performance and stability” improvements, although no specifics are indicated beyond that.

It also introduces improvements to “messages and usability on some screens”.

And that’s your lot this time around.

As I said, there’s nothing life changing here, but it’s nice to see that Sony is constantly looking for ways to refine and improve the PlayStation 5 experience, even if that refinement is subtle.

That being said, it hasn’t gone down all that well with users.

“Are emojis even worth mentioning?” asked Reddit user Bl00dEagles.

“Don’t spoil us Sony,” joked Majestic-Talk7566.

Come on now everyone. You should never look a gift horse in the mouth.

If you haven’t already, be sure to check out the beta programme announced by Sony last month.

Those who sign up will be granted access to testing out new gaming experiences.
