PlayStation 5 gamers are urging everyone to change a graphical setting to improve the experience with two PS Plus titles.

Current-gen consoles are a wonderful thing, bringing us gorgeous visuals, smooth framerates and epic tales to name a few. However, whether you play on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S, it’s not always the best experience, at least initially.

Thankfully, some issues that may plague new releases can be fixed with a swift patch from a developer or in the case of today’s story, a simple change to a PlayStation 5 graphics setting. In particular, a gamer on Reddit is urging players to make a change to stop PS Plus titles, Cult of the Lamb and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition from crashing.

“PSA: set your PS5 output to 1080p to keep Cult of the Lamb and Scott Pilgrim from crashing constantly,” announced Redditor ikilledtupac. “There’s something about PC ports that make the PS5 crash when it tries to play these games at anything other than 1080p.”

Ikilledtupac followed up to say that it might also be worth changing the video transfer rate to minus 2 but the crashes could be related to specific brands of TV sets. They speculated that when an HDMI receiver was used, that seemed to have fixed the issue with the two related PS Plus games.

While much of the Reddit thread stated that this issue has never been experienced when playing these PS Plus games, one gamer did experience a similar issue.

“If I play for more than an hour the game starts to crash every 20-30 minutes. It brings me to the report an error screen and then I’m back in,” replied InMarkWeTrust.

So if you’re having similar issues when playing Cult of the Lamb and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition on PlayStation 5, it might be worth checking your console settings or picking up an HDMI receiver.
