PlayStation 5 gamers treated to new free download, no PS Plus required

"My storage is going to hate this"

PlayStation 5 users are being treated to a pretty hefty amount of free content in one of the console’s latest free to play games, and the community behind it seems pretty excited already.

Fancy playing a new PlayStation 5 game at no extra cost this week? Even if you don’t have an active PlayStation Plus subscription?

Well, Sony and developer Kuro Games have your back, because a new update for the free-to-play gacha game Wuthering Waves is set to drop on PlayStation 5 in just a few days.

As detailed by Push Square's Sammy Barker, the upcoming 2.5 version update for Wuthering Waves is going to drop on July 24th, and it's bringing a new main quest, a brand new location named the "Fabricatorium of the Deep", and bunch of much needed quality of life improvements to the game.

But what do the folks over on the r/WutheringWaves subreddit think of all the new stuff coming to the came in the latest version update?

They seem pretty happy about it, by the looks of things.

“My storage is going to hate this but it’s fine,” commented user PiperThePooper.

“The game is stunning, TBH. I shall enjoy the scenery and farm my little echos in peace like I always do.”

“Some people are delusional, I'm extremely hype for the echo QoL I now can brainlessly farm echos and not have to worry about managing them all!!” replied user GoldenSnowSakura.

Oh, uh, yeah that first comment might be onto something, because it sounds like the patch on PlayStation 5 might be somewhere around 14GB.

Hope there’s lots of space on your SSD if you fancy giving this one a whirl, because while you don’t need a PS Plus subscription to play it… you are going to need plenty of space to download it.
