First released back in 2018 and giving gamers the chance to build their very own colony on Mars, this PlayStation 4 title is set to be delisted from the store forever.

Developed by Bulgarian studio Haemimont Games before being taken over by Abstraction Games, Surviving Mars is a 2018 city building survival title which tasks the player with building a colony on Mars and ensuring the survival of its colonists.

Now according to Sony, Surviving Mars and all of its DLC is set to be delisted from the PlayStation Store in order to make way for a brand-new edition.

However, unlike other titles which offer a free upgrade to these new editions, this will not be the case for Surviving Mars.

Set to launch on 10 November, Surviving Mars: Relaunched is an upcoming improved edition of the game which will be released alongside all its DLC.

Costing $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99, this brand-new edition will also be available at a discount for those who own the original Surviving Mars, taking the cost down to $19.99 / £17.50 / €19.99.

So yes, you will get a discount but it will most certainly not be free to upgrade your edition.

Additionally, an Ultimate Edition, which includes the Relaunched base game and an expansion pass, will be available for $59.99 / £49.99 / €59.99 or $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99 for existing owners.

At the time of writing, Surviving Mars is currently available as part of the PlayStation Plus Extra catalogue but it is currently unclear if it will be removed from the library or be replaced by the new Relaunched edition come November.

So what can players expect from Surviving Mars: Relaunched?

“The award-winning sci-fi city builder is back - remastered, expanded, and more stunning than ever,” the official synopsis reads.

“Your mission: colonise Mars and survive the process, from exploration and infrastructure to welcoming human colonists and achieving long-term stability. There are new challenges to overcome, new strategies to plan, and now with an upgraded look and feel for a new generation of explorers.”

In the meantime, if you wish to grab Surviving Mars, make sure you do it before 10 November before the base game gets permanently delisted on the PlayStation Store.

Additionally, this will make you eligible to upgrade to Surviving Mars: Relaunched at a slightly cheaper price point when that launches next month, also on 10 November.
